WHO WE ARE

We are a "safe haven" home for children who are in need of a safe home, or who are available for adoption but have not yet been placed in their forever homes. Every year, an estimated 10,500 babies are abandoned or put up for adoption at birth in South Africa. However, only one out of every three babies survive abandonment. And, a tiny portion of those find a safe home to grow up in. For those children who are placed for adoption and matched with forever families, it can take several months for the legal process to conclude. Many, many children in this situation are left in over-crowded, under-staffed hospitals/childrens facilities or else completely abandoned during this waiting process. Several simply do not survive the wait. We, at Abba's House, are working hard to provide a safe, Godly home for these babies as they wait for their futures to begin. We will host up to 6 babies at a time (ages 0-3) and we provide these children a godly, safe home until they can be placed safely with family members or adopted into safe forever homes.
